The Reverend Catherine Cavazos served as an Associate Pastor at East Brentwood (Tenn.) Presbyterian Church for four years prior to coming to Kirkwood. She believes her role is to love God's people in all she does, whether in the pulpit or at the grocery store.

At East Brentwood, Catherine coordinated Christian Education and youth ministries, led worship regularly, preached monthly, advised the women’s groups, taught a weekly Bible Study, and served with all ministries of the congregation. For most of 2010, she served as the Head of Staff, while the congregation was going through pastoral changes.

Catherine earned her Master's of Divinity degree from Columbia Theological Seminary in 2007 where she was a Columbia Scholar. She also graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Arlington with degrees in journalism and biology. Catherine has served churches in Florida, Georgia and Texas. She prides herself on knowing Presbyterianism well since she is a "Cradle Presbyterian." Her family still lives in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, where she grew up.
