Worship Committee

The Worship Committee is the spiritual core of the Church. Our mission is to provide that Kirkwood Church has worship services that conform to the principles of the Reformed Christian Faith. As reflected in our Mission Statement, these worship services should gather us as a joyful, supportive family of faith, emphasize our relationship with God and fellow man, and send us out as disciples to proclaim, "Jesus is Lord."

The Worship Committee is responsible for:

  • Assisting the Minister in planning personal and family worship;
  • The Church music program;
  • Assignment of Elders, Ushers, and Liturgists to worship services;
  • Children's worship time;
  • Communion;
  • Pulpit supply when the Minister is ill or on vacation;
  • Decor of the sanctuary;
  • Weddings and funerals;
  • Special services, including
    • Fat Tuesday
    • Maundy Thursday
    • Easter Sunrise Service
    • Christmas Eve;
  • Recording of services;
  • Usher's training program;
  • The Pre-Advent Family Gathering, the Advent Devotional Booklet;
  • Hanging of the Greens.

We meet at 7 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every month in the Adult Seeker's Sunday School Classroom next to the Church Secretary's office. If you are interested in what our committee has to offer, please stop by during one of our meetings and say hello. You may even decide to stay for a while.
