Our pastor, Catherine, joined us on September 5, 2011. She received an M.Div from Columbia Theological Seminary and B.A. in Journalism from The University of Texas at Arlington. She has served churches in Brentwood, TN, North Palm Beach, FL, and Fort Worth. She has written for various homiletics publications and devotional materials. She volunteers as a Chaplain for the Cobb County Police, and is passionate about supporting organizations that fight human trafficking. Catherine is happily married to Brad, who is the owner of Hearthstone Luxury Pools + Outdoors, and she is the proud mother of two children. Catherine grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and she enjoys running and spending time at the lake or ocean.

Heidi Hanz, Director of Music
Our Music Director, Heidi Hanz , began her ministry at Kirkwood on June 1, 2002. Heidi plans and directs music for all services at Kirkwood. She also directs the chancel, youth and children’s choirs. Heidi holds the master of music degree in sacred music and the bachelor of music degree in music education. She also is a Presbyterian Church USA certified church musician, a member of the American Guild of Organists, and the Music Teachers National Association.
Becky Burnette, Nursery Director
Nursery Director Becky Burnette is a life-long resident of Cobb County. A teacher at a Christian day care facility, Miss Becky has worked with children for more than 50 years, including several years of involvement in Scouting. She enjoys spending time with her son, daughter and four grandchildren as well as her brothers and sisters. Her other interests include working in her yard and cooking.
Marisa Hallberg, Children's Church and Education Leader
Marisa, a Cobb County native, earned her Communications degree from the University of Georgia. She then attended Kennesaw State University for her Early Childhood Education degree and later a Master’s degree in Inclusive Education. Marisa is certified to teach children of all ages and abilities and is currently a teacher in Cobb County Schools. In addition to teaching, she has experience working in private preschool as well as the non-profit sector. Marisa is happily married to her high school sweetheart, Dane, and they are the proud parents of two daughters and one son. She’s an artist, an animal lover, and enjoys spending time with her family in nature. With her passion for helping children to discover and strengthen their God-given gifts, Marisa began serving at Kirkwood in January 2020.
Kirkwood's Administrative Assistant is originally from Moss Point, Miss., and has been a Georgia resident since 2012. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree from Jackson State University where she studied Psychology and School Counseling. She has been privileged to live all across the South due to her loving and devoted husband. Together, they have been blessed with two beautiful children. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family and friends, writing short stories, and engaging in community efforts to uplift people.
